Sous Chef

Utrecht area

Cooking food and making money…what could be better? You are second-in-command in kitchens, reporting to the head chef, overseeing the preparation and cooking of food at our restaurants, dinners, and other operations where somebody can get a bite to eat. You make sure that the kitchen is a well-oiled machine, preparing food, managing the kitchen staff to make sure food prepared quickly and as delicious as possible, and enforcing food safety standards. When the head chef is away, you are in charge.


  • Creativity: Knowledge of ingredients and how to use them in a creative way will serve you well
  • Leadership Skills: You are in charge often manage the entire kitchen, from the dishwasher to the cooks. Being a good leader, who can assign tasks, hire the right people, motivate workers in a high stress environment will help you immensely.
  • Hand-Eye Coordination: All chefs work with knives and must have excellent technique when cutting and preparing food. Hand-eye coordination is needed.
  • Sense of Taste and Smell: Delicious food brings in guests. You are the last line of defense to make sure each piece of food is safe, prepared correctly and tasty.
  • Time Management Skills: Kitchens get busy quickly, food can get ruined easily if you cannot manage your time. Great time management will help you avoid burned or spoiled food and angry guests.

Guest Services member

Are you the type of person who can charm even the grumpiest of old men? Could you carry a hot bowl of soup through a hurricane without breaking a sweat? Then you might be ready for this job. You are the front line of food and beverage customer service, taking orders, delivering food and cleaning up and resetting the table afterwards. Whether it's in our full service restaurant or a casual dining in our Bistoria, you are the smiling, aproned harbinger of deliciousness. 


  • Communication Skills: Communication is key to service people. You will need to listen to the guest's order, relay it to the cooks, inform guests about specials, and more. You will need great listening and speaking skills to create a great dining experience for our guests.
  • Guest Service: A dissatisfied guest is not coming back and will share it with their friends. A friendly, relaxing demeanor, courteousness and prompt service will help you get repeat guests.
  • Good Memory: Big, complicated orders happen. You will have to remember food and drink specials, what food the kitchen is out of this week, who ordered what, and that kid at table 16 keeps needing root beer refills. Although we use handheld terminals, a great memory will help.
  • Stamina: Long, busy days on your feet are the trademark of this job.
  • Teamwork: Servers are part of a team. You will be working with other colleagues to create a great experience. Being a team player is essential.
  • Cleanliness: Nobody wants their food delivered by a slob. Being clean and neat when serving food and drinks will help create a great first impression to your guests.
